Time Issues Due to Time Change

I don't know how many of us this is affecting? Take the poll above and let me know.

I will submit a trouble ticket with AccuWeather support on Monday.

Meanwhile, if this bothers you in the meantime, change your time zone to be 1 hour behind your actual time zone in My Controls / Board Settings and check back here for more info. (If it is still an hour off after doing this, uncheck the DST options until you get the correct time).

Title Guidelines

Ill just go right into it.

This has to do with the current Oct. 27-30th Plains/MW/GL/OV Storm. Just because we are not in Winter doesn't mean we can't have a Winter Storm.

There are Winter storm warnings posted, news outlets are calling it a winter storm, and NWS offices are calling it a winter storm. This is because its a winter storm.

Someone changed the title of the topic in question to "Snow OBS". Yes that is correct, but there is also the rain aspect which the MW/GL/OV will see. The correct title should be Winter Storm. Are we in the winter season? No, but it is still producing all types of precip including wintry precip.

Thats all...

Storm Forecast Topics

Last Winter the rules were changed to have no specific heading for a storm forecast topic, as seen below.

Oct. 5-8th Storm

I was wondign if we could change things up to make it clear that it is a forecast topic. Even though it says it in the sub-title, many people including me overlook the sub-title. So, I was wondring if we could abbreviate 'forecasts', just like we do for 'observations'.

Oct. 5-8 Storm FCST

Is this some sort of a joke or something? I must be honest it looks immature and I'm really surprised that an official link to the guidelines would say that. Might just be me though...

2 Systems In A Region At The Same Time?

This is one of those gray areas that probably haven't been worked out 100%, but for example, I extended the thread date for one midwest storm thread until the 29th as the cold front will stall over the Ohio Valley and convective complexes will continue to ride along it (at least through Friday). Apparently a moderator came in and shortened back the the 25th (which either way was wrong since that storm is still producing rainfall across the midwest as of the 26th). However, at the same time, there's a completely separate storm diving SE out of Canada that's poised to impac the midwest from the 26th - 29th.

Ok, the problem is there's a one thread per storm rule, so it wouldn't make sense to bunch the 2 storms into one thread together and cause too much confusion.

Basically, what I'm asking is how can we work this issue out?
