I assume this is for somewhere in the mountains in Northern CA. This will be a pretty good series of storms to build snow pack, although snow level will be a bit high.

A weak, disorganized band of rain moved through the area late last night, and a moderate one around 3 AM this morning - enough to produce 0.10" total at my house.

Another front is headed our way this morning....

.04" from early morning showers here. Nothing since sunrise, although clouds are starting to roll back in.

Same here. Simi Valley, however, got 0.44" this morning, though. Up to half an inch was predicted there.

Downtown L.A. has 0.06" since midnight, and San Diego (Lindbergh Field) only a trace. Temecula has 0.02".

It is said that nature knows no borders - but in this case, our storm today seems to be purposely avoiding Orange County. Over the past several hours, light rain showers have been infiltrating parts of the LA Basin on and off, but all of them stop abruptly at the LA/OC county line. The moisture won't even come close to San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego counties.

Looking ahead: The northern half of the state is still likely to see more rain/high elevation snow through tomorrow, but chances of rain in Southern California are rapidly diminishing tonight (some areas didn't record any precipitation at all). Rain totals from this storm were generally higher further north and west (Ventura and Santa Barbara counties and north from there). Much of San Diego county was missed entirely, adding yet another storm to the roster of mostly weak storms we've been getting this Fall.

NCEP models bring a ridge (although not very strong) back to Southern California for at least the next two weeks, although I wouldn't rule out getting the tail-end of a couple NorCal storms (possibly around Thanksgiving and around the 26th). Speaking of which, Northern/Central California should still see occasional wet periods over the next two weeks as storms keeping rolling in from the Pacific.

Strangely Santa Monica is still reporting moderate rain right now, with total up to .10" now. What's interesting is the radar is not showing anything.

That's the way it's been here today and yesterday..All in all this has not been a bad storm for me here in the LBC...It came down pretty good for a good while this afternoon...Aside from that, It's still been a nice light to moderate rain, even to this hour... A lot of times, Depending on the flow, We get rain even though the radar is telling otherwise.

Like Beck mentioned it's interesting how it just disappeared once it hit the OC border.

A drove to the supermarket a couple miles away earlier and I did encounter a passing shower on Margarita Road. It was gone within a minute, though. Not on the radar either.

How much rain did you get? Long Beach Airport recorded only 0.02" today, and 0.09" yesterday.

Uh-oh. Here we go again:

I know we shouldn't rely on CPC outlooks, but right now they are indeed consistent with model runs.

If we wanted to avoid this I think we might have a chance at a trough around the 27th. We have plenty of time to get some rain but I hope we get our first widespread rain storm soon.

Got some pretty good rain at my house overnight in Lake Forest, but not a single drop was reported at John Wayne Airport or Fullerton Airport.
