I think I'm the only person here running antique windows. Everyone has new windows or a fancy mac computer.

Wah? You still use 2000 or 98? Most people at work wouldn't be using it.

Oh. When I first saw it I totally thought it was a mac. That's cool stuff. I want that addon thing with the cover art.

Yeah. I wanna say 2000, but I'm not sure. We're supposed to be getting new computers this year, but being in security, we always get the leftovers so we might not.

Thanks. I need to get a computer at home first. I only come on here from work.

I hate the internet, but I'm finally gonna break down and buy a laptop for school. I'm tired of going to the school library to write my papers.

What would you recommend for about $500? Can I get something that will be good for research and papers?

I got my first laptop for Christmas.
If you don't wanna blow about 700-1,000 away, I would recommend getting a netbook. However, you'd need a jump drive to put your schoolwork on just in case.
I have this:
ASUS EEE PC
Windows 7 Starter used the Anytime Upgrade to go to Home Premium.
