Congrats.
Thats how me and my wife did it too....a lifestyle change not a diet.

She thinks about what she is going to cook and shops for that stuff. The chips, chocolate and what not never make it to the shopping cart. It not too hard to NOT cheat when that stuff is not in the house. Well that and we almost never eat out.

So how many meals a day are you eating? How much sugar?

Thats the way to do it - mindset of a warrior!

I mostly eat when I am bored so I try to keep busy.

I eat 3 meals breakfast, i have like a kiwi and a orange for breakfast

Lunch I usually have something left over from dinner or like a sandwich wrap

Dinner-- that can varry...

I dont eat suger at all, Ive never been a big sugar eater, if i crave sugar, I get some gum, or a tortilla with honey on it..

No pop-- just water, regular tea with no sugar but with lemon

... I found making healthy food spicy it makes it alot more enjoyable for me

That's so good! I'm trying to learn how to cook healthier for my FH and me. I find it's hard to get away from butter. I also have a sweet tooth, but usually eating something small like a little candy or a waffle with a little Nutella on it curbs my craving. To me it's easier to give in a little to my craving instead of avoiding it all together and binging later.

I can't wait til we have a house one day so I can grow veggies too! I like to snack on baby carrots and unflavored, lightly salted rice cakes though. Also carrying a water bottle really helps me deter sodas.

I will have the occasional coke when we go out which is only like once a week. Other than that it's water, milk, and sometimes juice.

It's so hard to completely abstain from all the horribly yummy stuff out there, so I allow myself to have a little of it sometimes. A piece of cake here or an ice cold fountain coke there. I just do my best not to go overboard with it.

Good for you SFhyph! Controling your diet is a very hard task to conquer. I have a terrible sweet tooth, so I try to reach for yogurt or fruit when I get a craving. All I drink is water, milk, green tea & 1 cup of coffee a day, unless I run (then I have a 2nd cup to get me all wigged out so I run better).

Are you exercising regularly?

I know what you mean! Pepsi is my vice. I drink a can for lunch and one for dinner usually. It's not a good thing. I'm skinny as a rail though... blink.gif blink.gif blink.gif

I've lost 12 pounds since January. I didn't give up Pepsi though. I eat 3 meals a day and exercise 6 or 7 days a week.

Good for you! Yeah!!!

I love it when people take time and think about their health. It's not always an easy thing to train yourself to do.
