I'm not sure where to put this but it's been storming for about an hour now. Forget winter, give me temps in the upper 60's and thunderstorms.

I just love the sound of constant thunder.

I was on here wondering the same thing. Multiple rumbles of thunder and some decent rain coming down ATM.

Currently pouring a sleety snow mixture. Ground temps are too warm for accumulation but it could be coming down fat enough to cool metal surfaces for a slushy build up

Legitimate snow now, not accumulating but looking outside it actually looks wintry. Been a rare sight the last year. Almost enough to get me in the winter spirit again

I've been so engrossed in long range storms that I honestly didn't even know there was a chance of rain today, let alone that it was going to thunderstorm all day.

Probably 1/2" on cool surfaces which aren't many. May go down as first measurable snowfall of the season though.

First slushball regardless

Yeah, normally a day like today wouldn't be so many posts. It even surprised all the weather guys as well. Wish it were colder overnight, let the dog out just before midnight and was 49 out still

.DISCUSSION...
ISSUED 227 PM CST MON DEC 17 2012

SHORT TERM...TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY...SNOW FALLING TODAY WAS A
BIT OF A SURPRISE...EVEN THE FORECAST SOUNDINGS OFF MOST OF THE
12Z RUNS SUGGESTED THE LOW LEVELS WERE TOO WARM FOR SNOW.
HOWEVER...THE 12Z KILX SOUNDING WAS COOLER THAN ANY OF THE
MODELS...AND HAD A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF DRY AIR IN THE MID
LEVELS. THIS EVAPORATIONAL COOLING PRODUCED BY PRECIPITATION
FALLING INTO THE DRY AIR COOLED THE LOWER LEVELS EVEN MORE THAN
THE INITIAL CONDITIONS SHOWN IN THE 12Z RAOB.

Looks like it went into the official books as .2", so first measurable snowfall occurred yesterday.
