QUOTE(Hertz @ Aug 26 2011, 08:45 AM) *
Apparent report of a tornado in Chester but it's not on the SPC storm reports map.

there were two tornadoes (EF-1 and EF-0), along with widespread damaging winds and localized significant downbursts. surveys.

QUOTE(Hertz @ Aug 26 2011, 08:45 AM) *
What surprised me most is that the storms stayed severe so deep into the night. That's unusual for August.

we have already gone over this before, storms can be severe at any point of the day (especially in the summer) as long as the environment is favorable.

QUOTE(Hertz @ Aug 26 2011, 08:45 AM) *
A SVR Tstm watch would have stayed sufficient however, I still don't agree with the upgrade to the TOR watch that was done.

wrong again, like usual. as i have said before, look over the data before coming to a conclusion.

QUOTE(Nicole @ Aug 27 2011, 08:30 AM) *
Wind is still whipping.... my dad's wunderground station LIES.. says 21 mph gusts. Don't think so. Trees down, trampoline's trashed. Neighbor is losing a fair amount of shingles, another lost a privacy fence. Stay safe guys! ETA: We have roof leaks too.

QUOTE(Nicole @ Aug 27 2011, 08:49 AM) *
TBH.... maybe 50+. I have always relied on my father's PWS but it is apparently not working properly right now. There is a really strong band in Craven Co (SE of me in Greenville) that has 80+ gusts (again, no source, just reported on news) and I am waiting for the northern part of that band to wrap around to us. I wish I could source you guys more but I type as fast as I can b/c I don't know when the power will go out again. We are on a wireless network so when the power goes out we automatically lose connection.

I'll put it this way... if the storm is 1/2 of what I am experiencing by the time it goes north, I think there will be some really happy weather lovers up there!

Greenville METAR site maxed out at 64mph.

Radar estimates around 7" of rain thus far.

Just lost power... this will be my last update for you guys. I'm on my phone and need to conserve my battery till we can get the generator hooked up- most likely on Sunday. Everyone be safe. Nicole out.

Good luck.

this thread is lol worthy.

a few things though...
-stop using the nam, it's not a tropical model.
-a small shift in track over 1-2 runs is not a trend.
-stop using adt/dvorak, it's horrible.
-the storm has yet to undergo ri.

I'll say it again; you already have a thread for this subject matter - keep it in there. Why are there 2 threads for this? Did you really feel that was necessary? This thread needs to be closed, continue your discussion about this in the other thread where it belongs. Having a second thread for the same subject is just pointless, unless you are trying to get under my skin; in which case it's working. You're not going to shoo me away out of this one.

Stop it.

Not quite.

The league has to be filled 1 hour prior to the draft, otherwise the draft won't happen.

I don't [think I] have control of when the next draft date/time if that league is to get filled. The only time I have control is when I create the league.

alright.

so both of us ftl.

Hey guys...unfortunately discussing guns in prohibited by the provider T&C. Just discussing hunting without going into detail about your guns should be alright.

QUOTE(DomNH @ Aug 18 2011, 11:11 AM) *
I know, but for whatever reason AccuWeather doesn't want people to discuss guns. Even Jesse has no recourse here. It's nothing personal...I've got no issues with guns or hunting.

If it was for lack of traffic then why even have these toddler guidelines.

just close the forum and be done with it.

QUOTE(Nicole @ Aug 13 2011, 10:37 PM) *
Legit question:

We are having trouble picking out a "safe room" in our house. We have it narrowed down to four rooms:
a) interior closet. However, it is not big enough for everyone, nor does it have any surrounding plumbing.
B ) exterior wall bathroom. On south side of house.
c) interior closet. Is big enough for everyone plus animals, and surrounded on one side by plumbing. However, it has a vaulted ceiling.
d) exterior wall bathroom. On west side of house.

The reason I point out where some rooms are is because most weather patterns here are either west to east, or southwest to northeast. One would hope that in the event of a tornado we would not sustain a direct hit, however, both of my bathrooms are on the sides most likely to be affected. Any thoughts?

A or C.

Seems odd with the 'mild' section for the lower GL.
Whats up with that?
After all these forecasts of this many degrees below normal, this is an annoying slap in the face. I'm not for trusting that aspect of it.
Everything else looks fine.
But hey- I'm not a mod, and what do I know?? wink.gif

What does being a mod have to do with the maps?
