Weather nuts who want to see a Category 5 hurricane, as long as it makes landfall where they don't live. If it doesn't effect them, it's fine. blink.gif

As well as the ones that want the 100 year blizzards to hit - of course don't let them lose electricity or have to dig a vehicle out of drifts to get to a job that actually pays bills.

Severe weather is great - unless it targets you.

People who automatically assume that age gives them wisdom.....

This is no more true than saying that a young person cannot have knowledge....

Some people have the ability to assimilate information and others are 'thick as a brick' all their lives...

TV Weather - not because they are frequently wrong.

But every storm that decides to rain or snow becomes the next 'Storm of the Century'

We are in 2013 - the 13th year of the Century - and we have had AT LEAST 20 'Storms of the Century'.

Storms are storms - some will damage property, cause closings and have people die in them. They happen every year - sometimes stronger and sometimes weaker.

The hype seems to have increased since NBC bought 'The Weather Channel' - now it seems that NBC & TWC go all out to ramp up the superlatives whenever a storm system presents itself.

Posters who don't get that you don't have to post...or at least play the game properly.... dry.gif

Like not bothering to look a word to see if it is a 'real' word DOH!

And posting on what are you listening to...a TV show!

Why not open a thread of what you are watching on TV... The listening thread(i think) is about music etc.

You may be bored....but don't bore us with your lazy, extraneous posts......

Calling The Bank

My daughter called me at work to say I was to phone Josh at the bank.

I called my bank and the operator asked me what Josh's last name was and I explained that he hadn't left his surname.

When she asked for his department, I said I didn't know.

"There are 1500 employees in this building, ma'am," she advised me rather curtly.

After a few more brusque comments, I asked her for her name.

"Danielle," she said.

"And your last name?" I asked.

"Sorry," she replied, "we don't give out last names."
