One of the reasons why I chose live in Ontario rather than Vancouver when I came over from the UK. Too much like the British weather in coastal BC.

I spent most of my life missing out on snow, living in coastal cities in the UK. On the rare occasions it snowed in England, I'd usually miss out, so when I moved to Canada, I chose Ontario, and in particular Barrie as a place to live, and the snow stats was one of a number of reasons. Love it here.

Love it here. In BC, it's mostly just the SW coast that does horribly for snow in lower elevations. Pretty much every East, North and Northwest of me does well for snow. Northeast BC has done very well for snow this year. Places like Whistler also has done very well. I can't give you any positive or negative opinions on other provinces though, because I haven't traveled outside of BC in Canada. I've only traveled south to several states as far south as California. I've been through a majority of BC though, or at least a big chunk of it. |

Since 2008 though, SW coast of B.C. has had horrible winters (not much snow) and it would seem that forecasters tend to ignore us, because our weather is very difficult to forecast; for example, since November, there has been a constant indication of arctic air , reaching the coast, in the 14 day model runs- and it never happens.
