90 years to the day, the long-standing world record high temperature falls by the wayside. Due to errors in record-keeping and poor placement of the instrumentation the WMO has overturned the Earth's hottest measured temperature of 58c (136.4F) set on September 13 1922 in El Azizia Libya and officially declared the high of 56.7c (134F) in Death Valley California on July 10 1913 as the new record-holder.
