Is it possible that some of these strong bands going through D.C. will wrap around enough to get into Fredericksburg, VA? |

I was just wondering that Atown. Also, great job on your analysis and forecasting. I've learned alot over the past couple of winters just by reading your posts. Let's hope that Southern Maryland / North Central Virginia (Fredericksburg) can stay in the game for a few more hours! |

Def looks to be producing STRONG bands and one of the local mets thought some STRONG ones would stall over MD for like 6 hours! Im hoping this thing STALLS the heck out wit these STRONG bands, I could go for another foot and a half! Its snowing HARD here in Harford Co, north east MD! I remember growing up in Southern Maryland (Waldorf) and wishing I lived in Howard/Montgomery/Harford County during the winter...can't complain as of late though. We have gotten alot of snow down here this year. I say let the storms continue!!! Although, let's also pray that everyone is safe. |

Good Morning to all snowlovers! I live about 20 miles east of Fredericksburg, VA in the small town of King George. Currently, we have about 3 inches of new snow and it is absolutely coming down to beat the band! My question is concerning the radar; it looks like it was starting to move NE but now is tilting but stalled. Am I correct? |

Doesn't it look like the GFS tried to develop the low quicker off of the nc coast? |

I think all of you who analyze the weather in these forums do a better job of forecasting than the Accuweather meteorologists! |

Am I correct in saying that us DC folks need that southern low to develop off of the coast of Georgia/South Carolina to get a decent storm? |

That's exactly why we want this "clipper" to die. The vort riding the ridge south will hit the S/W swinging across the Texas panhandle and.....BOOM. ![]() That clipper is doing weird things man. I still don't understand how it's taking control like that. It's crazy how people were "throwing the towel" in on this storm 2 days ago. Look how much this has changed just today! |

You have any thoughts on what I posted? Too early to tell. If the southern energy is in fact dominate we could be looking at a totally different solution. I mean look at the WV imagery. Look how the moisture explodes coming out of the Rockies and into the Texas panhandle. Looks like a far south intensification to me. However on the flip side, the last loop shows the moisture being pulled north...pick your poison.... Source Wouldn't the strongest low win out as far as pulling moisture? If the low in Texas is indeed stronger why would the low to the north pull the moisture from it? |

Im no met what so ever! I just am an amatuer who wants to become a meterologist one day. To my understanding it will play the role as the energy that will form into our coastal. This is just energy and the low associated with it. So when the energy being passed from the primary to the secondary (coastal) that energy in the Texas Panhandle will be apart of it to help it form! Hope that helps. That is my understanding of the situation out there. Ok. Thanks! Makes sense... |

So whats happening, What is going on with the low pressure over texas? everybody keeps bringing that up and then quits talking about it. Can you explain the possibilities with that for those of us that aren't meteo majors? :-) Electrical engineering doesn't help me with the weather! |

Well does anyone else agree that this is getting interesting? How far off was the GCEM of a couple days ago? It doesn't seem that far fetched. |
