Ya im hearing an other storm to watch for thursday time period but i doubt that will actually happen . I would be pleased as can be if we get no more snow for a couple of weeks. The boat show season is about to get under way, and there is nothing worse than trucking down the road with boats in a snow storm. The wind here has swung from ENE to NE. Maybe this change may bring some snow. This post has been edited by willyswagon: Feb 9 2013, 09:08 PM |

You were always in a tough spot with this storm unfortunately. Some snow on the backside as the low passes by tomorrow night but it doesn't look like a whole lot. I know, apparently yyt are reporting 22cm down as of around 1:30am last night, so really within the forecast of 15 to 25cm. Just all seemed a bit tame when there was alot of media hype, we see more snow here from much smaller systens that dint have so much hype. The ec warning was a bit confusing as the first paragraph was 25 to 45cm expected, you had to read much further to see they said actually said 15cm for the avalon. Just above freezing now slight thaw taking place though icy out from the freezing rain, shouldnt lose much snow and a few cms later hopefully. Here on PEI it depends where you are. I've heard from 15- 30 cm winds only made it to the mid 80s. The local plow operator say about 30cm. I'm not sure if they do this off island but, here he is snow trapping in a local field in order to slow down the drifting. ![]()

Horrible clean up this morning, layer of thawing ice on top of 20 odd cms of snow, heavy stuff, reminded me of the blizzard last month though nothing like the amount, certainly very big piled infront of drives the plow had left, still a pretty decent amount despite my disappointment last night, the drifts are knee deep in the back garden.
6 degrees here now, as I read on twitter only in nl would you be out shoveling snow in a t shirt? kind of a blessing as its cleared the roads of the inch thick sheets of ice the freezing rain left. Forecast blizzard conditions overnight and monday morning as the low moves away, not a huge amount of snow 4 to 8cm but worse with strong winds. |

Gander are up to 51cm at 10:30pm and the snow still not done from this system, good chance they will break 60cm. Certainly a monster in central nl!

Looks like Gander didn't get much more after last night, but 53cm (apparently at 55cm since the bulletin was issued), a very notable storm in those parts. EC summary for NL:
