Looks like the Pittsburgh curse is alive and well. Stopped at 89, from what I've seen.

Edit: Never mind an update shows 90.

CAK tied the 1957 record of 94 with the last update. I could be wrong but I think this is our hottest day in several years. It certainly feels it!

I see at 2 we hit 93. Definitely should have been a Heat Advisory day.

What "curse"? KPIT was the only station in Western PA to hit 90 today, all stations nearby were cooler. Despite what some here seem to think, there isn't some conspiracy to purposefully lower the temps for Pittsburgh. rolleyes.gif

Nobody thinks it's a conspiracy, just that the high elevation and location on the outermost exurban fringe of the weather station means that Pittsburgh often gets "officially" left out of many marginal heat waves. Today, Pittsburgh International Airport was warmer than all the nearby stations, but that's an exception to the rule. It's like when Pittsburgh reached 100F in 1995, but Kansas City, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and Washington DC did not. Exceptions to the rule don't necessarily disprove the rule.

I just meant that usually the airport doesn't hit 90 while everywhere else does. Yesterday was an exception. I agree there's no man made conspiracy to lower temperatures, just nature's conspiracy.

Today we should have no real trouble to get there.

The high temperature will be at least 91F in Pittsburgh today. Likely no hotter than 92F, though.

This humidity and heat do have to break though. No AC in my house, 85 degrees just downstairs. Luckily I have a window unit in my room, was 89 up there before turning it on. Can't wait for the cooler temps tomorrow.

Toledo was 95 on Sunday. In a rather weird turn of events, this is a higher temperature than any *July* day since 2012, and a higher temperature than any *August* day since 2006. It hotter than any *June* day just since last year, when the maximum temperature was 96 in June.
