I'll start this up again this year since I think it was great last year to have the stuff for us western-erns.

Been very foggy here the last 3 days.

Only managed a 10C today with a 2C low last night....burrr...

Extremely thick fog now. Went out for a coffee run and could barely see 20 feet infront of me. Haven't seen it this thick in a long time..

EC even has a Special Weather Statement..

QUOTE

Special weather statement
Updated by Environment Canada
At 10:40 PM PDT Friday 18 October 2013.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Special weather statement for:
Metro Vancouver
Greater Victoria
Fraser Valley - west including Abbotsford
Sunshine Coast
Southern Gulf Islands
East Vancouver Island.

Fog persisting through the weekend.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
==discussion==
A ridge of high pressure which has stalled over the BC coast is
resulting in an inversion. Warmer air aloft is riding over moisture
that is trapped in the low levels resulting in extensive fog.

Fog is expected throughout Saturday over the inner South Coast
although the October sun is still strong enough to burn through
In areas away from the Strait of Georgia. Consequently some afternoon
sunshine is expected in these areas. However fog will become more
extensive once again Saturday evening and may be slower to burn off
on Sunday.

Current indications suggest that the wind pattern could change early
in the work week in which case fog would be less likely although
Some low cloud could still remain.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as
warnings may be required or extended.

Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment
Canada at www.weatheroffice.gc.ca

Looks like we're in it for the rest of the week too. I'd be impressed if we made a 11-12C high. Only been around 7C or 8C for the past week.

Whether this scenario is anywhere near accurate or not remains to be seen since this is a long way out. Brett mentions it briefly in his latest blog - http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-blog...merica/19364725

A second, more significant Pacific storm could impact the West Coast the second half of next week, but I will not say anymore about that until we get a better picture late this week.

If only we could get snow from that in lower elevations.
