I've posted help topics in that section of the forum and nobody will respond, so I'm posting this here where there is slightly more web traffic.
The gradual disappearance of the site's administrators, moderators and members is no secret - and with this has come more problems. For instance, nearly all features in AccuWeather's My Controls panel do not work at all anymore, and haven't in over a year. The search function is broken, the look up post/topic by member controls are broken, the signature limit seems nonexistent now, .gif files do not load as avatars, the forum is plagued by random ISP Driver Errors, many forum sections have not been posted in for several months (a couple haven't been posted in for over a year as of this writing), nobody offers solutions to those asking for help, the 'friend' features are broken completely, most moderators have not been active in over a year (although I spotted administrator WeatherMatrix logged in yesterday for the first time in ages), and the reply (especially Quick Reply and Fast Edit) features are buggy. I'm assuming there are no plans to fix any of these problems whatsoever. Does anybody even care?

Any fix for this? I recently changed my avatar from this:
![]() To this: ![]() It says it accepted the avatar change, but the old one still shows up for me, only now it's resized. I've tried refreshing, logging out and logging back in, clearing the cookies and cache for this website, using different web browsers, trying different computers, re-uploading avatars, but nothing works. Apparently, some users can see my new avatar. Not sure how. What do I do about this? I'm not even sure there any are moderators or administrators left on this website. There have been increasing bugs and glitches all throughout this forum for several years now, and many features (especially in My Controls) are no longer functional at all. There doesn't appear to be any maintenance whatsoever. Just want to have my new avatar show up.

It had been over 100 hours since anybody had posted in the previous thread so it was about time I started a new one.
High Pressure has kept California warm and dry since the 12th, although right now it is weakening briefly as weak Low Pressure intrudes into the area, brining Onshore Flow with it. High Pressure is expected to quickly rebuild over the region and warm temperatures back up, possibly into the low 80s in my area. Offshore Flow will accompany this warm spell. Meanwhile, a winter dry period is expected to continue after a wet December. No rain is currently in the forecast, high pressure may stick with us into early February. ![]()

![]() Looks like Northern and Central California will get up to .75 in the valleys, and between 1 and 2.5 inches in the foothills, at least judging by the NWS Sacramento forecast discussion. Snow levels are expected to drop to near 4,000 feet, and between 1 and 2 feet of snow is predicted for higher elevations. Southern California: From the NWS discussion (San Diego): QUOTE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN DIEGO CA 850 AM PST SUN DEC 14 2014 .SYNOPSIS... FAIR...AND A LITTLE WARMER THROUGH MONDAY UNDER A WEAK HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE ALOFT. INCREASING HIGH CLOUDS ON MONDAY AS A LOW PRESSURE TROUGH APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. THE TROUGH WILL BE WEAKENING...BUT STILL IS EXPECTED TO PRODUCE SOME LIGHT PRECIPITATION BY TUESDAY. A COLDER TROUGH WILL FOLLOW FOR WEDNESDAY WITH A CHANCE FOR HEAVIER RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS...AND EVEN A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. COOL THROUGH THURSDAY WITH SHOWERS ENDING...FOLLOWED BY DRY AND WARMER WEATHER FOR FRIDAY. THERE IS ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SHOWERS OVER THE WEEKEND... THEN DRY...WITH OFFSHORE FLOW TO FOLLOW EARLY NEXT WEEK. && QUOTE .HYDROLOGY... FOR THE INITIAL SHORTWAVE AND WEAKENING FRONT ON TUE...EXPECT SOME SHOWERS TO ARRIVE ACROSS ORANGE AND SAN BERNARDINO COUNTIES EARLY TUE MORNING..AND SPREAD SOUTH THROUGH SAN DIEGO COUNTY THROUGH MIDDAY. OROGRAPHIC EFFECTS LOOK MINIMAL SO PRELIMINARY RAINFALL ESTIMATES ARE FOR ONE-HALF TO ONE INCH IN THE SAN BERNARDINO MTS...WITH AROUND ONE-QUARTER TO NEAR ONE-HALF INCH FARTHER SOUTH THROUGH EARLY EVENING. THE SNOW LEVEL IS EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 5500 AND 6000 FEET WITH SEVERAL INCHES OF SNOW POSSIBLE ON THE HIGHER PEAKS OF THE SAN JACINTO AND SAN BERNARDINO MTS. SCATTERED...LIGHT SHOWERS MAY CONTINUE TUE NIGHT INTO EARLY WED MORNING AHEAD OF THE COLDER TROUGH...THEN EXPECT RAIN/SNOW SHOWERS TO INCREASE AGAIN WED. THIS EVENT WILL BE MORE CONVECTIVE...SO RAIN AND SNOWFALL WILL BE MORE VARIABLE...BUT THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR AN ADDITIONAL INCH OR MORE OF RAIN MOST AREAS ALONG AND WEST OF THE MTS BY THU MORNING...AND HEAVY SNOW ABOVE 5000 FT. CONFIDENCE REMAINS LOW TO MODERATE WITH THIS EVENT DUE TO UNCERTAINTY ASSOCIATED WITH THE STRENGTH AND TRACK OF THE UPPER LOW. AVAILABLE PW WILL AGAIN BE CLOSE TO ONE INCH...SO MOISTURE WILL BE SUFFICIENT. INSTABILITY PARAMETERS SUGGEST THERE IS A THREAT OF ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WED AND WED NIGHT AS WELL. THE SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO END THU MORNING. && I'm looking forward to this. This has been a good month so far, rain-wise. El Nino could be generous to us this winter for all we know. What do you all think?

Apologies for the late questions. I was on my way back from Albuquerque, NM yesterday, which was a 13-hour drive so I didn't have the chance to post these.
1. If you had to choose: Would you live in the city center, or far outskirts? 2. What's the longest drive you've ever done? 3. What was your favorite part of this summer? 4. Have you ever intentionally destroyed a piece of technology? 5. What do you think will be humanity's downfall, and why? 6. Will you consider signing up for Maw's Friday Questions at any time soon? 7. What is your view on the homeless in America? 8. Do you think there will be anyone left on this forum, 5 years from now? 9. Have you ever experienced jet lag without taking an airplane? 10. Do you have any annoying neighbors you'd like to tell us about? |

I wanted to say something wise and deep like Apolo but I ain't that wise and the only thing deep about me are my ear canals...I think they meet in the middle of my brain! :O 14 Oct 2011 - 23:45 ![]() ![]() Nothing borne out of fear and ignorance can come to any good or have good consequences. I am only able, with God's help, to be a voice of reason in a forrest full of ignorance. may God bless and watch over you. 17 Sep 2011 - 19:32 ![]() ![]() Hey Young man...glad u asked. The name refers to being an "apologist-in-Ky." Simply put an apologist is one who gives a defense (in this case Christianity) of their beliefs using rational argumentation through dialog and/or debate with: casual believers, skeptic /atheists, those holding opposing viewpoints to Christianity. At least that's the short answer. 13 Sep 2011 - 2:01 ![]() ![]() Thanks for your concern PB! : ). I think I'm pretty safe here in the Central Piedmont region but then...that's what they said before Hurricane Hugo! 25 Aug 2011 - 19:19 Friends
