Hope that the mods are fine with this, and folks will participate, even just to vote. About 20,000 to go.

Ok, first of all I'm not even sure I'll be able to figure out who it is, especially if it occurs during a flurry of posts. But I'm willing to try, and perhaps even a moderator could help us out. For fun I'll set a poll up too, with some of the more consistent posters.

I'm going with Undertakerson on November 17, 2015

I set up a poll, sorry if anyone feels excluded, I did my best to get consistent posters in various regions. (I took some liberties) I'll try to adjust and amend the choices as necessary. I'm not really expecting anyone to play along, but with the 2,000,000 milestone nearing, I thought it'd be fun. As I said, I'm open to alterations, it wasn't easy to come up with the list. I know that you can vote in all 5, but they only allowed 10 choices per question, so I had to create the regions to maximize the choices, so please just vote for one. Total. smile.gif Thanks!
Edit: I guess you have to vote in all 5, that's fine, though. smile.gif

I included a choice in the international for "field" for any names not listed n a poll, but as I get write-ins, I'll adjust.

Going with Snowlover2 on August 18 2015

Some of these severe weather outbreaks can rack up thousands of replies in a week. smile.gif

Have to vote myself, and I'll probably be complaining about something laugh.gif But, odds are it will be clichevortex, unless he's out camping/vacationing

Hopefully a mod, or maybe even pm weathermatrix and see if he can disclose who it was, will be able to see the info. Think weathermatrix is the only admin?

Edit forgot to add a date/reason.

I'm going with the scientific approach...

Figuring we average almost 5000 posts a month and without any giant severe weather outbreaks and likely a relatively calm Atlantic hurricane season pushing back the likely event until the latter part of October.

That's when we start talking about winter much more. And most of our posters are from PA.

LOL

Roughly 10000 posts to go! This thread was created on May 3 with ~21,000 posts to go. That means there've been 11,000 posts in 3 months. Assuming we keep at that rate, the 2 millionth post should come in mid-late October. But we won't keep that rate... the winter bears will be coming out of hibernation before then... so I'd place it in mid October, on a weekend. Mid October is also when most of the seasonal models put out the most recent run... soooo...

I'm going with UTS.... in a regional event thread... at about 4:50:32 PM on October 18th, 2015. But I'm screwed if a major event sets up... God forbid (for the sake of this game tongue.gif) a Nor'easter comes about.

Down to 7,5xx remaining. At this rate might be early 2016, going to need a few big systems or someone to release a totally bizarre winter forecast to start a big debate laugh.gif

Just a bit more than 5k to go. Looks like we are averaging 2,500/month. Current rate says mid December. With my luck, there will be a big system(s) and the posts will be flying when we approach 2 mil.

Lol, can't believe I forgot him. In truth I just picked the names off the daily posting page, he wasn't really posting much at the time. I'll try and sneak him in, I just hope it doesn't reset...

Edit: done wink.gif also added Mr. Renken to the list, I suppose he belongs too. tongue.gif laugh.gif

I also want to thank whoever voted for WilliamEBrantley, or as I call him "the dark horse" the dude is like clockwork.

The hurricane really bumped things up, guess if we get another big East coast Halloween system we could get the needed posts in about 35 minutes laugh.gif

Certainly fine with me. tongue.gif

We really need is the 168hr EURO to paint a 975mb low over the 40/70 benchmark. Then they will all crawl out of the woodwork. laugh.gif

Edit: my plan is to crank out like 2,500 garbage posts in the "everything else" section. Cause it's not about winning, because nowadays, it's about finding a way to "game the system" dry.gif

This feels like watching a race between the tortoise and the snail. Roughly 2,500 to go, unless we see some better eye candy on the models, it may be Christmas before we get there.
