yea, something is wrong with EC's station at RBG. Today EC's YHM and Lake Ontario shore stations were both at 29, my backyard was 31, most local backyard stations were 30-31.... we had light west winds and RBG was sitting at 24. Lol. Days like today it's always 1-2 degrees higher than YHM. Been like this the last few weeks. I wonder who would be the folks to contact about this?

I noticed that as well. Call RBG and the switchboard may be able to direct you to the right person.

I'm thinking it's an Environment Canada issue, no? I'll try RBG, but I would assume they have no clue what's going on with the weather station...probably just something they allow on their property.

In a perfect world this station would be moved to the other side of Cootes Paradise behind McMaster. Would give us a truer indication of what the temps actually get to in the city during the heat of summer.
Of course, moving the station there would mean record after record being pounded during it's first few years. But I would think it's in the public interest to have accurate data in the middle of a large sized city. A temp of 34 means something different than a temp of 30 or 31. Think of how many days every summer urban Hamiltonians live with inaccurate temperature data. As with any city, lots of non-AC residences and apartments makes this more of a public health issue than simply a weather hobby issue.

Let say that this heat is nice but you can barely do anything or enjoy outside.

Yesterday was picture perfect here, mostly sunny with a high of 26C. Winds were light so you really got to enjoy the strength of the sun. More of the same today, lots of sun with highs around 28C. IMO tomorrow has a chance of hitting 30C in parts of Southern, Central and Eastern ON again with mostly sunny skies.

Monday through Wednesday also have potential to be 30C+ days in certain regions.

A forum member who's also an admin with equipment at his disposal has volunteered to set up a forum. See thread http://forums.accuweather.com/index.php?showtopic=33659 He's set up a placeholder with an interim name https://www.wxforums.com/ but that may have to be changed to avoid confusion with an existing forum.

And it has been changed to wxdisco.com (weather discussion). The Canadian forum is https://wxdisco.com/forums/forum/18-canada/ There are several sub-forums, but with the limited number of Canadian posters, we should probably stick with posting in in the main Canada forum (url above).

Thanks for the info and link. It'll be nice to have a place to call home. Should a new thread with this information be started to make it easy to find for everyone?

Im expecting to see possibly the Toronto to Alliston corridor get into the 30C club by tomorrow into Wednesday.

Things cool down to seasonal (25c) for Thurs and Fri with some unstable conditions possible. Saturday looking seasonal and sunny. The next shot at 30C could happen Sunday.
