We all enjoy the long range forecast that these computer models show. 5,10,15 days out they'll show us a dream blizzard, nor 'easter, severe storm outbreak and then for the most part they ease off showing us these fantasy storms once it gets close to the actual event. My question is which model wins for most dramatic picture for our viewing pleasure? I'm sure this will be easy for a lot of you but theres no wrong answer. If you can name the date/location of your favorite model showing this unbelievable forecast in the United States do tell! Pictures welcome!

What do you remember the model showing for the actual rain/snow totals or winds/pressure?

What perfect timing and location - I was just thinking this exact thing when this thread popped up just minutes ago laugh.gif

My all time favorite - the CRAS model, known for retrograding the Feb 2010 storm from the Atlantic Ocean to the Rockies, taking Sandy into the Gulf of Mexico, and many other cases.

January 21, 2011 (around that date) had a weak clipper in the NE with light totals between 4-10 inches for most. CRAS decided to take things a little differently = 936-940mb triple phaser over Upstate NY, heavy rain changes to extreme blizzard

I don't have it at work, but a while back the Euro had a "minor" error which produced a monster storm over Canada with pressure bars so tight that you couldn't read them.
