At least I found somewhat of a positive in terms of weather in moving to Albany - that is the LEF, also known as Lake Effect Flurries. 5th time it flurried this week yet no accumulation.

WOW
THAT was unexpected... forecast for tonight was partly cloudy. Band of LES basically set up training over Albany, 30dbz band passed overhead and it's POURING snow outside. Coating on all surfaces and quickly gathering last time I checked! I feel like one of those people from the south that aren't used to having snow... I haven't seen it snow this heavily since January. Snow appears to be calming down but there's more bands behind it, although it should probably weaken somewhat when it gets here. I guess I won't be sleeping much tonight

The snow from the initial burst is melting despite the continued flurries, although it was nice while it lasted. Not bad for my first LES event that's bigger than flurries this fall, although from what I heard I shouldn't expect much LES during the winter.
