Although I love beach weather since I live near so many lakes, a cooler summer would present excellent conditions for running and racing. I know blocking patterns can't last forever, but my intuition tries to convince me that TWC might be on to something... Agreed. The CPC predictions have been failing the past few months (at least for those of us in the GL region), washing us in "reds" and then it ultimately winds up cooler than normal. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the perpetual East Canada/Greenland high just sits there for months on end. I actually don't mind a somewhat cooler summer compared to last summer, but I hope that a jet stream draped right over me doesn't mean a steady series of wet impulses. I'd rather have hot/dry as opposed to mild/damp (I've already built an ark with this spring, and May looks to deliver us good ol' cut offs). |
