Getting a nice surprise burst of heavy snow... Non-paved surfaces already coated despite above freezing surface temps.

Next wave of snow is starting here as it moves southwest, or "backwards" on radar. NWS puts me in the 2-4" zone through Saturday night.

Of course when I'm getting snow showers in Albany, NE NJ has to beat that with a stationary band of heavy snow squalls... I already heard there's minor accumulations there.

Yeah, actually getting decent now... may actually catch up with NE NJ. That area and Westchester county from what I heard have nearly 1/4 or 1/2 inch with a heavy snow squall earlier this evening...

I wonder how much snow fell further south in I-87 between Albany and POU... a moderate band has been sitting there for hours.

nothing here. It was snowing pretty good about 10 miles to my south though on the way back from the woodbury commons. Pretty amazing difference actually as it was snowing moderate-heavy and grass was covered there and nothing but flurries here.

On the radar the band looked to be mostly confined to far NE NJ and Westchester county... from the former area I was just told there's almost 1/2 inch on the ground. Not bad for a surprise snow event.

Interesting... the bands tonight looked to be mostly stationary, set up over one place and hardly moved. The snow is getting light here now after the band to the south briefly extended further north, at least the ground is white again... although it would've been more exciting if there was actually something left from the 4" or so I got on Wednesday, if only it didn't all melt in barely 18 hours.

Got around 1" more on Saturday morning to bring the total from the whole event to 9". Then rain showers in the afternoon. Still expecting on and off snow/rain in the next few days from this storm system with light accumulations possible. So much for this storm being on Feb. 26-28. tongue.gif

Picked up another 3 inches last night on the snow pack, more like 2 inches on the deck. Started snowing lightly yesterday around 2:00 at 38º took forever and a day to accumulate, but woke up to a nice solid coating. I guess this ULL has quite the staying power.
