Astronomers can 'see' galaxies back to 14 Billion years ago and presume that those are the 'original' galaxies that got formed in the 'Big Bang'.

Since light goes in every direction - how do we know that what we are seeing at 14 Billion years is not just the midpoint of the Universe and that 14 Billion years is a far back as we can 'see' and that there is a continuation of the Universe on the other side of the 'mid-point' out another 14 billion years.

Astronomy and the Universe boggles the mind!
