Is anyone else excited for sports' best playoff?? Nothing beats Stanley Cup playoffs. What are your thoughts/prediction.

My Columbus Blue Jackets (finally) made the playoffs as the #7 seed in the Western Conference and will face the #2 Detroit Red Wings. This should be interesting matchup. The CBJ have the front runner for Rookie of the Year in goalie Steve Mason. Without him, the Jackets would definitely be on the outside looking in. As for Detroit, goalie Chris Osgood has been very inconsistent this year. Detroit has better defensive and forward play than Columbus, but you never know what will happen.

Here are the rest of the matchups:

Eastern Conference:
#1 Boston Bruins vs. #8 Montreal Canadiens
#2 Washington Capitals vs. #7 New York Rangers
#3 New Jersey Devils vs. # 6Carolina Hurricanes
#4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs. #5 Philadelphia Flyers

Western Conference:
#1 San Jose Sharks vs. #8 Anaheim Ducks
#2 Detroit Red Wings vs. #7 Columbus Blue Jackets
#3 Vancouver Canucks vs. #6 St. Louis Blues
#4 Chicago Blackhawks vs. #5 Calgary Flames

I like the Caps out of the East and the Sharks out of the West, and the Capitals to win Lord Stanley's Cup.

I'll root for the Rangers. Don't follow hockey all that much, but I don't think they have much of a chance. Oh well, GO RANGERS!!!!!!!!!

Yes! FINALLY after years of sub-performances, they make it in!

And St L made a heck of a run at end of year too.
This is my FAVORITE time of year as far as sporting events go! smile.gif

I'll stick my neck out and make 1st round predictions
Winners
Boston, Washington, Carolina, Philly in east

Detroit, San Jose, St Louis and Chicago in west.

I'm on vacation next week so I'll get to see plenty of hockey! wink.gif

Smart kid!

Nah, realistically I think it'll go to 6-7 games, with the Red Wings winning.

I'll be at Game 3, next Tuesday April 21st, here in Columbus at Nationwide. I can't wait!

You kinda killed this topic laugh.gif . Donald Duck wasn't the mascot. I cannot believe some of you guys continue to pick Columbus over Detroit. Are you guys crazy? The Red Wings go 4 good lines deep and their 1st blueline group of Lidstrom and Rafalski have almost scored more points than all of the blueline groups for the Bluejackets. I say Wings in 5
