12z Euro is a major hit for the NYC area. Big deformation snows at hour 36. Much colder than the GFS.

Earthlight
"It leans towards the NAM more than the GFS for sure. But a hint warmer than the NAM it looks.

Mts of Wv, Garrett County and Somerset Pa look to be in a good snow zone.....snow ratios will be higher here despite slightly less precip....still looking like 1"+ of precip....NWS has a winter storm warning for 5-9"....that plays out that could be upped.....ground is warm but not terribly so...30s yesterday and a low of 18 last night where I live and 20s most spots.....would not be suprised if things remain as they are that some spots do not top a foot at elevations near 3000' and above......no precip as of yet here

Long Island checking in...

I'll be thrilled if I at least see some October flakes flying to kick off the winter and holiday season right. Enjoy everyone though I find that the cynic in me thinks two things:

- as quickly as the hype builds up, the let down comes just as quick

and

- does this storm just set the stage for a season of disappointment after a strong start

Yeah, they've been sitting at 30 degrees all day...plus they sit at 3700 foot elevation wink.gif
Back here in the valleys (elevation 1200 or so) its still 40 degrees.
Besides they've already had their first snow of season back on the first of October
