My woman friend and I went for a walk this evening, and the wind chill was brutal--close to minus five. Walking against the wind was akin to torture! The minimum temperatures won't be all that impressive, but we are in line for some record low maxes.

Mostly sunny here, and down to -1.3, with very gusty winds. One of the coldest days all winter.

Crazy. One of the most impressive Arctic airmasses since last year I think.

Low of 13.9 here. Lower than Mid January normal

Todays lows..

We fell to 5 degrees this morning--the latest in the season that we have fallen that low since 1993. Even in 2014, the coldest we got from the 11th on was 6 degrees on the 13th. We could equal that 6-degree record low on Monday morning.

I think compared as a departure to normal, this weekend wins. We were -27.5 to normal with the range of 6/-4F, and the cold snap in mid December hit a nadir of -24.2F.

This plus the wind that was gusting steadily 25-30MPH. I was only outside for a few minutes Saturday but that was enough!

Very dry too...the humidity in my house dropped to 14%.
