If Tuesday puts down a thick blanket, this one needs to be mostly frozen too or the flood risk will be elevated.

That is how the March 1888 system formed. Was a clipper that reformed south of Long Island.

Impressive lots of time to sort this system out. This is directly related to the ridge out west, weaker ridge less amplification which will be needed.

Flood risk, you'll have roofs collapsing everywhere with 4 feet of snow within a 5 day period.

2 KU storms in a week in March has probably never happened.

Yup, I'm rad with my 3-5" out here in SWPA from the Tuesday storm, then callin' it a winter. You guys out east and up in New England can have fun with your "Day After Tomorrow" landscape for the next 3 weeks.

Not at all surprised to see this opportunity presented and perhaps more to follow simply because it's been many years that the big cities on the east coast have had a superb March. We were certainly due. The odd thing is that it's happening in a year that was more or less a dud of a winter. That's what makes this endgame of this winter so special. Saddle up folks and enjoy the ride!

A boat might be the only thing you'll be able to ride in come April 1st where you live.
