Total bust with this one. Every model showed a decent outbreak so this is truly surprising.

I'm grateful for what we have in Barrie...think we did about the best here in This part of Ontario. Also, I'd say the fat lady hasn't sung yet. The wind is still coming out of the north west, and it's set to shift slightly more to the West around the 21Z point, so there could still be a stray streamer set up at some point and give some lucky area 5-10cms.

The LES event from November had more snow accumulation here. But this was definitely more treacherous due to the strong winds and wet conditions that preceded it.

TWN says 5-10 cms here tonight from westerly squalls. I'll believe it when I see it.

I am very satisfied with my few cm of snow. Everything is white outside and it is definitely mood boosting. It just gets you into the holiday spirit. Winds are very gusty and strong gusts are causing blowing snow, reduced visibility.

I got a cm or two in northeast Toronto as well, so I was pretty happy.

First signs of some GB LES showing up on the radar now...may only be light flurries, but could still develop between now and midnight into something a bit more promising.

What I remember about November was that it came in drips and drabs, at no time being particularly strong with big accumulations. Also the forecast said it had ended, and we ended up nearly doubling our totals. That is the joy and despair of LES...impossible to predict accurately locations and amounts.

Band lining up wasaga across to midland going inland to Barrie across to Orillia if it gets that far. If this pans out we could end up with totals that Travis et al predicted for Barrie...15-20 from last night to Sunday morning.

OMG, don't tell me there is more, we didn't end up with the most LES, but it is still blowing the fan inside my house.... it was brutal last nite, I guess more accumlation against the wesst side (of my car, the fence), but holy man, when it came down, and I thought the tree in our front yard was coming down, though you really couldn' see it that close, it was awful... just glad i got home in time as the 400 past King Road was were it stuck and there was cars in the ditch... still blowing a gale and i hope it is done.... last night made me appreciate (and be afraid of) a snow squall off Georgian Bay... kudos who live with that in the winter.. not my favorite thing, even though Newmarket has a blanket of snow... missed Aurora which is not even 5 minutes down the road...... yikes... but WOW......awesome, but scary to drive in...

I'm with you Puttin, Friday night was brutal. I drove from Cookstown to Barrie at 7.30 and I saw 3 wipeouts. Squalls can come up real quick and catch you out...that's why you should have a winter emergency kit in you car.
Ended up getting about 5 cms from last nights LES snow. Prettied everything up after the winds from Friday made sure there was no snow in the trees. Total for this LES period for Barrie was about 15, which was what was predicted by the experts on this forum. Small beer compared to what we can get, but at least it's guaranteed a white Christmas.

LEs should help us out a bit to make white Christmas

bunch of Lows off to west and just enough cold coming south to keep up Whiter
than greener and wet.

Merry Christmas to all

LES is currently reaching the Ottawa region (or very near). Given the current direction it could even reach SW QC and even part on the Montreal region.
