I've had my cabled vantage pro 2 since October 2005 and it hasn't given me any problems what so ever until about three weeks ago the humidity and dew point stopper displaying and it shows - -. The temperature is displaying fine and the cable hasn't been cut or frayed. Do you guys have any idea what could be wrong?

I have a cabled VP 2...had it for over 3 years and have had no problems. Monday I stepped out to run some errands and a thunderstorm popped up with frequent lightning, when I came home I looked at the console and all the outside data was dashed (--) and there was an "L" at the bottom. I immediately checked to see if any of the cables were frayed or cut and they were not, so I took the ISS down and unplugged the unit...when I plugged it back in it would not come on!! I unconnected the console cable from the console and plugged the unit back in and it came on but when I connected the cable to the console it would freeze...so I unconnected the console cable from the ISS and it unfroze, when I tried to connect the console cable back into the ISS it froze.

My question is what could have happened, and does the SIM need to be replaced?

I have a cabled VP 2 that I've had since early Oct. 2005 (3 yrs 3 months) and it has given me no trouble what so ever as did my VP 1 that I had from Jul. 2002 until it was destroyed in Hurricane Katrina. I woke up this morning and it is really foggy and very humid and I was looking at the console and noticed that the humidity and dew point was "dashed" out (--) it lasts for about 1-3 min. then the actual value of 100% and 64 would come back and it shows for about 5 min before it dashes (--) out again. Obviously the wire can't be frayed or cut because the temp is not doing the same thing, so is the problem up at the ISS or is this even a problem and its just very humid? Because when the values dash out it doesn't do it on my VWS program or doesn't show dashes on Wundergrounds website. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!!

I just purchased a used wireless Vantage Pro with 24 hr FARS from Ebay, I already have a cabled Vantage Pro 2 with a daytime FARS. My question is can I take the 24 FARS from the wireless VP 1 and replace my daytime FARS on my cabled VP 2 with it?
