Long island has been very chilly. How come we are missing out on all the warmth!? i can use another beach day and get my tan back i am purly white.

Brett Anderson's maps on how the Euro Weeklies look. He does note that they don't seem to have much consistency in the long range as they usually do.

Looking like an abrupt pattern change in our near future. For the most part everything is heading towards no cold look as we set our sights on Nov.

For the East, I agree, it looks like a mild pattern setting up for most of next week, with a strong trough then possible for the central US by the late week. I actually have no problem with seeing above average temps, at least that would make something interesting happen around here... this October so far is one of the most boring Octobers I've seen recently. The temperatures are following exactly the average, if not slightly above, there's no extremes such as 80s or lower 30s like there have been in many previous Octobers. We have been close to 90 degrees this October so far, and most of the temps for the month have been above normal. I think we will be solidly above normal for the month.
