Snowing hard here in Oshawa. 2 cm down in 30 mins

This is a bit off topic, i was just reading a headline on the main page of accuweather and they are suggesting an ice storm is possible sunday/sunday night for southern ontario, anyone else hearing or seeing this on the models?

A couple waves of moisture will progress into the area in the early and middle parts of next week but cold air at the surface will be stubborn to give up it's ground. Warmth will eventually win the battle for a day or two ahead of another significant cooldown as Feb begins. A variety of precip types are likely before the cold reasserts itself, from snow to ice to rain.

Look's so awesome outside! Guessing about 2-4 is already down at least judging by my railing!
Whatever is on the ground now is added on top to our previous snow pack..

Seems about right that the heavy snowfall is lake effect. Wasn't sure if it was still the clipper or the lake effect - it's the lake effect.

No specific cause has been implicated yet, but I have little doubt that those heavier squalls played a role in this major traffic snarl.

A massive pileup involving as many as 80 vehicles has closed down Highway 401 east of Oshawa, Ont.

Const. Linda Wolf said the weather conditions are far from ideal and have undoubtedly played a role in the accidents.

"It's too early to say what was the cause of the collision. We definitely will be looking at the weather conditions. We do have unfavourable driving conditions right across the Greater Toronto Area right now, so it's a wonderful opportunity to remind everybody to turn your headlights on, slow down, be aware of your stopping distances."

EMS officials say there is at least one injury that could be considered life-threatening, and several serious injuries.

But medical responders say considering the level of the accident, there is "more wreckage than injuries."

Heavy snow affecting the Whitby to Port Hope corridor this evening from a Lake Ontario snow squall.

An Alberta clipper is giving a light snowfall to the region. However, the wind ahead of the clipper has steered a pronounced Lake Ontario snow squall into communities along the north shore of the lake. At 3:30 PM Doppler radar indicates the heaviest snow is affecting the Whitby, Oshawa and Bowmanville areas. It is expected to meander slightly east over the next few hours and focus on the Bowmanville to Port Hope locales this evening. It may remain in this area for a few hours.

Radar indicates a snowfall rate of 3 to 4 centimetres per hour in the heaviest portion of the squall with associated poor visibilities less than 200 metres. Total amounts in excess of 15 cm are quite likely, especially between Oshawa and Cobourg, before it shifts back over the lake later tonight.

Really lame event in Hamilton, as forecasted. Probably about 2-3cm unless we get a little more, though it has stopped snowing for now.

We have over 10 cm since 2pm. Still snowing moderately.

I drove through that snow band. It was really intense. Took me two hours to get from Yonge Street to Port Union Road!

1cm in Alliston from this. It was pretty while it was coming down. We can still see the tips of our grass.

The roads are a mess down here, very slippery, the side streets are still snow covered and it is still snowing somewhat, Brett pretty much nailed down the snow totals here, got a good 10 cm.
