I search real fast at the vws forum http://users.boardnation.com/~ambient/index.php and I didn't see anything, and I don't use vws, so I can't say......

but no, the humidex is different from the heat index

here is how you find the humidex http://www.theweathernetwork.com/Inter/Hel...ges/humidex.htm
and heat index http://www.erh.noaa.gov/er/iln/tables.htm

Heat Index is not the same as Humidex.. Both indeces use a combination of air temperature and humidity, but the equations are different, so the values will not be the same. NWS uses Heat index while Canada uses Humidex. VWS and Vantage Pro are only programmed to display Heat Index.

A simple way of estimating the humidex is to add the temperature and dewpoint (in C) then subtract 13. For example, if the air temperature is 32C and the dewpoint is 22C then the humidex is 41C (32 + 22 - 13 = 41C)

There are plans to re-evaluate the heat index/humidex equations to get a common equation between both countries, (similar to what was done with windchill) but I don't know when that will happen.

Hope this helps.

Thank you to everyone who replied so quickly, this is another itch scratched. Now I need to come up with a formula for my website to figure this all out, hehe.

Thanks!
