The current police LED light displays are TOO BRIGHT when they use them at night.

They are absolutely BLINDING!

As bright as the lights are - I can't even see you reaching for my wallet. Sorry about catching your arm in the closing power window! I thought there was a buch of screaming as I drove off.

Drivers that cut across the other lane's turn lane to turn into a strip mall or something. Some guy nearly caused a crash doing that one night (thankfully I was going in the opposite direction).

I know this kind of thing is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek but this is just another example of one group of people trying to prove how much "tougher" they are than everyone else, using weather. It's pathetic. And it shows how poorly educated about climate & science these people are. -100 Fahrenheit? You'd be dead. Even as a joke, it falls flat on its face. Just because people from one region are more used to cold temperatures than other people, doesn't mean they're "tougher". Please. For god's sake, it's a form of tribalism - it's primitive and stupid.

And FYI, as a Californian I'd start shivering at roughly 32 F, not 40. Those who live in the high mountains in this state are used to much colder temperatures. There are thousands of clearly distinguishable microclimates in this state - not that I expect the average American or Canadian to bother to educate themselves to know that. It's easier to just believe whatever Hollywood tells them like a bunch of subservient poorly-educated simpletons, which is the popular thing to do anyway as witnessed in every aspect of popular culture & media. It's stupid, anti-intellectual, and I'm sick of it.

Furthermore, why is this in the Pet Peeves section? You certainly brought out one of mine just now.

People who don't seem to grasp the concept of NO! If Im telling you that we don't want your service, it doesn't matter if you talked to my father last week - we don't want or need a security system just because you managed to confuse a half-deaf 82 year-old man into saying maybe, that doesn't mean I'm obligated to let you into my house mad.gif

Ground Hog Day

It makes no difference what Phil or any of the other ground hog headliners see - Winter will end when it ends.
