What's everyone been up to?
I've been stuck in a gaming zone since September. Got back into playing a WWII online multiplayer game "Day of Defeat Source". I have about 70 hours into it. Helps unwind after a busy day! I know we have a few gamers in here - what are you playing these days?! -------------------- Join the Observations/Livestream Facebook Group for updated LIVE Observations during storms!

Yeah, Steam is great. Not much of a gamer myself but for computer games, been playing a few off there like "GTA San Andreas" (never get tired of it, my favourite of the series) and "The Sims 3" most often. Some of my older games like SimCity 4 and Age of Empires II are still fun to play as well.

Add me on Steam, boys! Ryan45!
I used to be a serious gamer when Counter Strike Source was released. Previously played CS 1.6, Team Fortress 2. Just beat the Half Life series in the fall. Good old GTA! I'm looking into getting a monitor on boxing day. Playing on my 15.6" laptop screen is a bit tough lol. Looking into a 24" BENQ -------------------- Join the Observations/Livestream Facebook Group for updated LIVE Observations during storms!

I added you ![]() Did you have a specific model in mind? Thanks for the add, man! Not set on anything yet. I was looking on Canada Computers website though and picked a few out that might be an option. Thought of maybe going with ViewSonic as well. Any opinions from you? -------------------- Join the Observations/Livestream Facebook Group for updated LIVE Observations during storms!

What sort of video card are you running? Nothing incredibly fancy, just an AMD R7. Laptop is a Lenovo Z50-75. I am not playing any new games aside from CS GO which is pretty much maxing it's limits. I'm more so looking for a larger screen size that won't break the bank, but won't break down in 1 year. $200ish is my range. -------------------- Join the Observations/Livestream Facebook Group for updated LIVE Observations during storms!

Doubt if you have much use for the built-in speakers but otherwise it looks like a good fit. |

Thanks Mike. On another note, my Ranger went to the shop today..I think the camshaft syncronizer needs replacing. Major squeal from the back of the engine..common on the 3.OL so we will see. It never fails. Just got my water pump replaced 3 weeks ago. -------------------- Join the Observations/Livestream Facebook Group for updated LIVE Observations during storms!

Ended up going out this afternoon, BestBuy had them for another $10 off however they didn't have any in stock or any as far as Mississauga didn't either. Tried Canada Computers, they didn't have it either or any of their other local stores. After discussing it with them and the games I play, they felt I wouldn't necessarily need a low MS monitor. He said it is nice if you have it but unless you are running new games, I really wouldn't notice it a whole lot. I ended up settling with a BenQ GW2470. It is a touch shorter at 23.8" but it fits perfectly in my desk which is a bit of a relief because the other would of been a little bit tighter.
Parents wanted to buy it for me for Christmas as I am apparently difficult, so I have to wait a month!! ![]() -------------------- Join the Observations/Livestream Facebook Group for updated LIVE Observations during storms!

Just saw Hacksaw Ridge...Very good movie, would recommend. I knew it was going to be good but it was outstanding. I wanted to see that one, havent' yet. I went and seen Allied two weekends ago and I really enjoyed it. More of a love story than a war/spy movie, but great cinematography... So Mike and all, whats the word on Rogue One? I hear its amazing, best one since Empire! Don't give anything away, I'm going on Friday... This post has been edited by JJ Snowlover: Dec 21 2016, 05:04 PM |

So Mike and all, whats the word on Rogue One? I hear its amazing, best one since Empire! Don't give anything away, I'm going on Friday... I'm going with a couple of buddies of mine on Tuesday, hard to coordinate schedules this time of year and we're all big fans so I'm willing to wait to share the experience rather than go earlier alone ![]() From what I've heard I'm very excited but I'm obviously trying to avoid spoilers too. Just the overall concept of a more grounded and less Jedi mythos oriented movie in the canon universe sounds fantastic to me. Tying it into the original trilogy is icing. I was wary of the brand switching hands but TFA sold me despite some issues I had with it. I'm eager for more. |
