Lacrosse 8610U problem, The + button no longer works Options

I am a newbie here.

Does anyone know how to open the case of these Lacrosse instruments? Removing the 8 screws removes the cherry panels but see nothing else to allow me to separate the back from the front to work on the "+" button.

Also I need a better way to get the Data into my laptop with out first downloading it to my old Tower's serial port.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
