Never started a storm thread before. Hopefully this will be the spark for all the snow starved folks in the middle of the country. smile.gif

06z GFS:

12z GFS:

Also, to my amateur eyes, this looks to potentially have some BSR support.

Thoughts?

I posted the below on DEC 30th in the LR winter forum. I still stand by it:

QUOTE
Just my opinion...but JAN 8-9 system has the look of a freezing rain changing to rain event for me. I-70 mix, I-80`snow.

JAN 11-14th - system brings I-70 snow, Ohio River mix

JAN 17-20 - Ohio River snow, I -40 mix

So the storm on the 8-9 rides along I-70 and has rain halfway through Michigan and this one has a stronger Low riding through the northern Lakes and has snow all the way to Kentucky. How is that even possible?

There's a pretty decent number of members from the Euro showing quite a dumping of snow over the OK,AR,MO,KS, etc, area. I'd say a little over half the members show a widespread snow event, with 6+ inches.

This one is still pretty promising. 06z GFS brings a good amount of snow to the midwest and GL.
