We have a solid few inches on the ground and we didn't even have a winter weather advisory... yet a couple Tuesdays ago we got 0.1" of ice and lots of rain from a winter storm warning. rolleyes.gif

Great to hear, looks like what you had is coming through MBY now. Did roads get covered?

Goes to show just how difficult issuing advisory/warning products can be when conditions are marginal and how heavily even marginal travel impacts weigh into the decision.

All model guidance is just that, guidance. It is the responsibility of the forecaster to take that information, make it better, and to appropriately communicate the forecast to the users.

Fervent supporter of the idea to make GFS output beyond hour 168 proprietary! Anyone wanting to post/share/tweet/etc GFS output beyond day 7 should have 1) a limited set of graphics available with the option to 2) contribute a nominal fee to get a full suite of products while improving future GFS output. #EURObusinessfor-the-win

As of 4 minutes ago Pittsburgh pulled the trigger on a WWA for MBY ... I understand why they waited, but at the same time they probably didn't need to wait until an inch+ had already fallen based on upstream obs.

We easy had 3 inches on the ground in a 2 hour time period. I-77 from Parkersburg to Noble County in Ohio was an absolute mess. Cars flipped in median scattered everywhere. Semi unable to make it up hills and whatnot. Total off guard storm.

I disagree with this being a total off guard storm. GGEM/Euro both showed this at the beginning of the week.

I'm talking about the general public. A newscast last night showed a model showing snow then was like don't worry about that it's all gonna be rain. If you haven't been watching models then you were off guard.

Changed to a rain snow mix so I went to the mountain for some sledding. The first picture is the sledding hill I conquered multiple times, second is a generic snowy forest picture from near the top of the mountain, and third is the paltry amount of snow at the bottom of the mountain.

Yeah, I'm starting to realize how spoiled I am. 9 out of 10 times when it's cold rain IMBY there's good snow and
a good sledding area just ~20-30 minutes away. Definitely going to take advantage of this more often next year.

Saw two then a bunch of sirens but still donít know what it was. I thought it was
lightning at first but the reflection mustíve been from the ground to clouds.
