Maybe we have to give the German model some credit on this. Seems like it showed this a few days ago, and the GFS and NAM are numping on board. Could be enough for a WWA downwind of Lake Erie.

You left out the best part of the storm! tongue.gif

Shows 3-4" IMBY including a brief burst of heavy snow.

All model guidance is just that, guidance. It is the responsibility of the forecaster to take that information, make it better, and appropriately communicate the improved forecast to users.

We live in a day and age where the quantity of model guidance is overwhelming, particularly within 24 hours of an event. We must remind ourselves that all models are wrong, but some are more useful than others.

Well completely surprised to be under a WWA this morning! Obviously have not been watching this storm. But 2-4" for SE MI. Not even sure this is the right thread, since most of the focus for it has been in OH

Oh I didn't mean to make that come off as MI is forgotten about. I meant that the thread showed the storm south of us, in OH and such. I'm just totally surprised with this storm! I'll really be if we get that 6-10 total lol. Which model does dtx have that we don't!

Guess I figured it out. I only have half an inch currently IMB. But flint reported 6.9" at 7am this morning!?! And that was a 6 hour snowfall total! Nice!

Wish I was home for this one! Nice mesobanding and ratios of 25:1 reported with this system in Southern Michigan. Everyone likes surprises (except when you live in Indiana and just want it to go below freezing)
