Plenty of eastern ridging to start this time frame. If a major storm system does pan out in this time frame, it's going to be juicy and probably too far west to benefit me.

All model guidance is just that, guidance. It is the responsibility of the forecaster to take that information, make it better, and appropriately communicate the improved forecast to users.

We live in a day and age where the quantity of model guidance is overwhelming, particularly within 24 hours of an event. We must remind ourselves that all models are wrong, but some are more useful than others.

Beast on the 12z GFS...too bad we're still in fantasy land. You'd think a big storm would occur somewhere during this transition time though.

That whole stretch from 2 days prior to 2 days after that storm on the 12z GFS looks like a carbon copy of mid Jan system. Initial system rolls north in Canada, main system forms along the Arctic boundary and rides inland. Potent clipper system trails afterward.

Shame its 10 days out... just looking at a mirage.

I feel ya! I, too, am wanting a storm that brings me more than 4 or 5 inches of snow (many here would take that in a heart beat).

I simply would trust me drawing a big snow in our thread more than any model with this time period. It does give one hope though!

A man can dream.

Even though this is 9-11 days out, I'm glad there's some kind of consensus on at least a storm. But, I'm gonna need the models to continue to agree for another day or two solid before I start getting any kind of excitement.
