Just to keep things interesting, the 12z NAM looks to take a northward jog

12z NAM shows Detroit with dry slot and p-type issues. That's a bit of a northward jog.

I think my heart just skipped a beat, it's now north of me. My only solace is that the NAM at this distance tends to be a northerly outlier.

The cutoff to the south is just brutal. Roughly 60-75 miles separates 6+ to nothing.

Not even. Cook county IL alone would see a spread of 8+ in the north to <1 on the south.

I'm sincerely hoping this thing ends up somewhere in the middle of last night's 00z GFS and today's 12z 3km.

Probably wise to take those totals and cut them in half. GFS has been amplified ahead of a system only to come back in line with realistic totals. It's also further south of the Euro.

It has been tough. Our time will come, but unfortunately it may not be this year. We got about an inch overnight.

Sounds like KC. If we keep up our current rate, it will be the first time since records were kept back in the 1880s that KCI will not have had at least 10 inches at least once in 3 years. We're on a record long 3+ inch snow drought as well.

We feel the pain here, trust me. sad.gif
