Hello
It's been a while for me in doing this, I hope Im following proper rules in this. I know the weather here is fixing to turn worse with Ida moving in so I wanted to keep all updated on how things are going here in Alabama, mainly North Chilton area as Tropical Storm Ida moves in. We are 200 or more miles inland away from the impact of T.S. Ida.

As of 1:02 pm CST Monday 11-09-09 It is currently cloudly and a mild breeze blowing. 65 degrees so fairly nice temp for this time of the year.

I was reading a local weather report; they are hinting that in early January-Feburary that the so called "cross polar flow and negative nao" will begin to affect our weather in the south.
What is this cross polar flow and negative nao, how will affect the weather in the south?

Thanks, Tim

Hi

If it wasn't for the local weather man I would have missed something great. They said that tonight that the cresent moon and the planet venus would be showing in the southwest sky.
I wasn wondering if someone else got to behold this lovely site.

How does Barometric Pressure effect the weather?
Ive heard of what it does somewhat but Im not clear on it.

Like right now the pressure is 30.06 and rising.

If it is rising what does it mean or if it falls what does that mean?

If this is answered somewhere else your welcome to point me in the right direction!!! laugh.gif

I was encouraged to open up an observation thread to post my obs. for my area in Central Alabama around Jemison, AL.

If your not familiar with where Im located, Im between Montgomery and Birmingham cities about halfway between the two.

This is my introduction part, I post again shortly my first observation.
All observations will be credited to Weather Underground website!!!
I can't take credit for someone elses work, that would be wrong for me to do so!!! smile.gif

Be back shortly to post again!!!

Thanks, Tim
