System and lake enhancement under performed east of Toronto in Whitby. Only have around 8cm or so out there. I think the lake bands just never fully made it this way. Oh well, we might get into some lake snow today and tomorrow from the stronge bands off Georgian bay.

And counting, by the time I get home, should be 60-70cm and not going anywhere too soon.

Happy Christmas to everyone from a green and dreary England.

pretty hefty snowband has developed in Michigan and is now headed through London and looks to be headed my way (Hamilton). With these temps I've got to assume it's high ratio snow. Anyone in the path of this band? Is it as good as it looks on radar?

Went for a walk today. Can't believe how much snow fell after midnight. A solid 15cm from this system and current snow depth is 30cm with 2 foot drifts. It's incredible out there.

I don't ever recall having this much snow on the ground without a single watch or warning.

Quick recap on this system. Been busy last few days.

The storm ended up tracking well NW than was modelled.
This greatly impacted the potential for lake effect by creating way too much shear aloft with winds remaining more SE.

Short range models Sun morn were showing upper and lower winds aligning from ENE creating a major squall from 10pm-2am
It wasn't able to materialize due to shear.

This greatly limited the higher total potential around the west end of the lake.

Oakville ended up the bullseye still with 22cm.

I received 16cm here. The lack of a focused lake band actually helped my area. Instead of a single band, there was multiple nodes of moisture enhancing snow rates along the surface breeze.

The further NW track also helped SW Ontario.
In the end, it turned into a good snowfall for everyone. And on Christmas Eve to boot!

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.
