Hello; as with any electronic equipment, it depends on your budget. If you have the funds, you might consider the Davis vantage vue, because the sensors are in one unit- and since you mentioned a lack of space for a separate rain gauge, this might solve your problem. I have both an Oregon Scientific (WMR 968) and a LaCrosse WS-1613-it. Both perform well, and each has its own limitations. Certainly, the freeware Free WX software that was designed for the WMR 968 has enhanced the capabilities of this station. So if your interested in the LaCrosse, make sure that it has compatible software. Enjoy

Thank you Here's one from Lacrosse. It has all the basic measurements, but as far as I can ascertain, no upload capabilities: http://www.lacrossetechnology.com/8035it/index.php I found a basic station at Oregon Scientific with USB/PC connection, but it had no barometer. There are plenty of stations in your price range, but without any kind of connectivity. Others with either USB or serial connections to a computer, have the full range of sensors. As far as an IP device to broadcast the data to a computer, usually those are accessories, which in my experience, often cost more than the station itself. Researching a weather station can be a pain, because you know what you want, but they don't necessarily produce it! Another option is to do a general search: 'Data Loggers' - some of these devices may do exactly what your looking for, but I'm not sure about price. Good Luck in your quest! |

That looks like an excellent station, but the one I saw on Lacrosse's French site, indicated that it had a wind and rain gauge as well, but they were new additions to the station. Good luck- it should be an easy set up!
