This little system has produced about 5cm of snow in downtown T.O last night and it's coming down pretty heavy here this morning. I wouldn't be surprised to see another 3cm or so on top of what we received last night.

6cm of very light fluffy snow here. Probably only about 3mm of liquid I'd guess. Very nice surprise.

I feel this is the appropriate thread for this map. It's not big enough of an event for a whole new thread but there will be some LES over the next 24 hours across S Ontario. Winds will be WNW and W so areas hugging GB and N Lake Huron will see some snow. It will be more bands of heavy flurries rather than intense squalls but some areas may get 10-15cm out of it especially in the Barrie to Bracebridge corridor as we as Wasaga Beach to Midland.

It will be an off and on thing, at times there will seem like theres very little activity off the water and then bands will form. I expect a lull in activity towards tomorrow morning before things get going again by the afternoon and into the evening. It should all end by early Sat morning as High pressure moves in.

By Sunday a weak low will invade S Ontario giving periods of light snow across much of the region. Accumulations will be low, in the 1-4cm range. Extreme SW Ontario and areas near Lake Erie will see some mixed precip or rain. While areas north of a line from Goderich to Toronto will see all snow.

I just went out to measure and I was really surprised to find that 3-4cm have fallen since this morning. Looking at it coming down, I thought it would be a dusting at most. It's a decent amount considering we weren't really expecting much at all and it's still expected to snow through the night and tomorrow.

Yeah, this system has been nice so far in Ottawa, a small but decent accumulation. And due to the extreme cold conditions (-16 to -18C all day), that has allowed the very light snow to accumulate even on the roads.

Seems to have stopped currently but radar shows more on it's way at any time.

Rare situation this morning, were getting snow from LES from Lake Huron/Georgian bay as far has SW QC - Laurentian / Lanaudiere / Montreal area.

It is helped by the weak low flowing north of us near James Bay and the associated cold front, yet that is still LES. We're even getting Snow squall watchs for the areas.

Eastern Ont regions and Western Qc could get up to 10cm of dusting - North of MTL area could get up to 5-10cm out of this.

EC and TWN really blew the forecast for Ottawa today. The called for 2 - 4cms and -3c. We got no snow except some hit and miss light flurries and no accumulations. Temps even climbed to 0c today, seems all the percp went further north and east as Regg mentioned above.

Looks like Toronto and the north shore of Lake Ontario were the surprise beneficiaries of this storm. I was hoping for some decent lake effect last night as the models were predicting NW winds of reasonable strength for a number of hours...changed at the last minute though and nothing. Only hope for over a week is the low passing over in the next 36 hours, but I'm not that optimistic, the temps are hovering too close to 0.
