It's really weird that the top weather agencies are having a tough time forcasting the overnight lows for the GTA
AccuWeather has -7 for Thursday and Friday
TWN has -4 & -5
EC has -5 & -6

GFS on board with Canadian for snow potential later this week (mostly LES flurries, nothing drastic) but again this coming weekend across S and E ON with amounts in the 2-8cm zone.

Ok, thanks for letting us know. Looking forward to it!

I've seen some pretty extreme discrepancies for late week, especially on the weekend. Accuweather had lows closer to -10, TWN was around -3 for Thursday night. Still some confusion for Friday too - will we get above freezing? TWN has high of -2 now! I think it has something to do with the big models showing completely different things and the companies don't really know what's gonna happen.

Speaking of wintry temps, the most recent below-freezing temp at YYZ was back in April; -0.2 on the 18th. http://climate.weather.gc.ca/climate_data/...mp;EndYear=2017

But things warm up again starting on Sunday the 12th.

Thursday night should be our first glimpse of the white stuff. Chance of a few cms of LES on the backside too:

Friday looking quite cold for so early in the season. Encouraging to see a higher snowpack to the north this year than last. November 2016 was quite balmy in comparison to now.

First frost of the year last night. We had about a dozen new, bright red roses that had opened in the front garden over the last week. This morning, dead as a doorknob. Lol

Leaves starting to change colours now...but man, what a bland boring autumn in that department. A couple big windstorms took down leaves without colour and the lack of rain and constant heat over recent months have led to mostly brownish colours.

We had some beautiful colours up here, they peaked about 2 weeks after Thanksgiving weekend. Some trees still have leaves on but Id say 70% are bare now.

Wow, really going to be a harsh change. Normally don't go from normal fall weather to a maximum of -5 and squalls.

The trees in my hood are starting to change now, so hopefully we'll see some decent colours. Will be short lived tho.

Beauty day out there today. Lots of sun this morning and 10 degrees. Even feels a tad humid. Tomorrow morning is gonna be a shock to the system!

little dusting on the ground this morning!

A wild sight unfolding today tho after that cold night. MASS amounts of fully green leaves falling and blowing everywhere. It's like a leaf blizzard but totally green. I've never seen anything like it.
I guess with the cold overnight temps the leaf stems couldn't hold on. I guess this answers my question about whether we can expect any colours to arrive. Lol

Had some light flurries for about an hour here. Not much accumulation but it's nice to see flakes in the air.

Next weekend has some serious LES potential. Think this week was just a warm up. A real splattering from cottage country through Stayner off GB,and the works off Huron. Could be some serious totals, 30-40 cms in places, which is pretty unheard of this early.

Man, this weather pattern is getting really lame. Typical November dreariness but still too early for snow here and shorter days to boot.

Yeah I don't remember the last full sunny day, it was back in October for sure. November has been overcast, dreary, with lots of drizzle/rain and wind. Add in the time change with the darkness by 5:30pm its very depressing. Personally I find the holidays and snow threats tend to take your mind off the bad weather dark days in December. Things for me really don't turn the corner until February. At that point you can feel those days getting longer, the sun slowly picking up in strength, and you know spring is just around the corner.

Yup, you said it all. This time of year is lame without snow and storms to track, albeit it's only November but still.

March is the real turning point for me with the switching of the clocks and around 12 hours of daylight which pretty much shuts down nightime's dominance.
