I was just looking at some wind models for the area and noticed they are still NNW off of Georgian Bay starting tonight and continuing into tomorrow . This is what I'm thinking and it is very close to Travis's thoughts just a little more west. The worst squalls will be coming ashore in the Meaford/ Collingwood area and extending SE towards Creemore and Alliston and Wasaga Beach SE toward Cookstown . I think Barrie will be a little east of the action but you never know.
As for the Huron squalls I think the worst of it will be between Goderich and Kincardine and extending SE for approx. 100 km . Snow totals should be in the 10-20cm range but actual accumulation will be hard to predict due to the warm surface temps. I will post some reports from my area later on and tomorrow .

Haven't seen a flake yet in Toronto. Band of rain came through and then it dried up. Any chance of lake effect snow reaching the GTA?

First flakes of the season. The snow is quite dry. We don't get very much dry snow when I lived in Vancouver. Very cool to see it drift around in the wind even after it reaches the ground.

Nothing really happening around here despite of all the warnings . Light squalls off and on over the last couple hours with very light accumulation (3cm) By the looks of things the squalls have been very disorganized so far tonight but they should ramp up over the rest of the night/morning and start giving some areas decent accumulation .

12-15cm down in Barrie but snow has stopped now. I spoke to family in Alliston and it appears they received much less there, about 2-4cm.

Bands will flare up again though towards early morning I can still see another 5-10cm falling in areas west of Barrie. Everything will calm down by lunch tomorrow.

A light dusting here this morning, enough to whiten things up a bit. Buckle up as we've got another 4-5 months of snow opportunities ahead! biggrin.gif

A good 5+ cm if not a little more according to the deep dog prints in the snow... roads were not plowed very well and things are slippery. I woke up at 3:30 and the sky was orange with heavy squall coming through.... E.C. says another 2-4 for Newmarket but the sky is clear and sunny. All in all, a pretty start to the day....
