SPC posted this on Facebook today... severe reports by state with notable events delineated. A little hard to see without zooming in, but overall... wind reports above average and hail and tornado reports were below average. Definitely a sign of a summery month.



The events delineated were...

Kansas - strongest tornado (EF3)
Texas - strongest wind report (106 MPH)
Texas/Wyoming - largest hail report (4.25")

Severe weather generally followed climatology for May. Southern Plains hit the hardest, then the secondary area extends east from Kansas. Biggest standout was Pennsylvania and New York... most of those severe reports came from one day rather than in the Midwest where there were multiple marginal/slight risk days.
