Which leads to a question. What is the length of the Sun's day?

Since the sun is a rotating ball of plasma, the equator apparently moved faster than the polar regions. About 25 days at the equator, and it increases to 36 days near the poles.

What I can't figure is how you can 'mark a spot' on the Sun and fully determine it's rotation speed. Then again about all I have learned about astronomy comes from Holiday Inn. laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
