So, I got my scope out with the neighbor last night and we fought the extreme cold and wind to get some pix of Jupiter. The .avi files were immense and the clarity was fine. He sent me this first attempt at processing in Registax, so I do not have the particulars. But what I do have is this:

Meade LX-200 ACF, 10"
Orion Starshoot 5MP Solar System Camera
Wells, Michigan
Processing in Registax

No problem. Two more my neighbor processed in Registax & Photoshop. I think they turned out pretty good.

Jupiter is a gas giant and it does not have a solid surface. It is also very far from the sun and the sunlight take over an hour to get to Jupiter. Jupiter has a very cold weather and the scientists say that the gases in Jupiter are toxic for human beings.
