I'm going to open this obs topic a little early since most people are already discussing the radar, and this may help the Forum issues by creating a topic that is not a million pages long. laugh.gif

Current radar & obs from 11 AM below, also our forecast snow map created at 6 AM this morning.

Like I said earlier, the radar is a tad north of the models and also has more of a punch to it. It's cloudy here, gonna rain soon. A few days ago I was expecting quite an outbreak of storms but I can see a few isolated severe storms here since the storm is a bit more north then what the models showed.

Good Morning, Carlos!

Great point...for many of those areas, 3-6" is nothing to sneeze at. wink.gif

Good morning.

I agree.

Models now are ironing out there differences and starting to show that snow will indeed fall from DC to Boston.

Some of those are will get 2 inches others 4 and others 6, and of course any of the numbers in between, increasing to higher amounts from SW to NE.

Hopefully the ECMWF comes in wetter.

I don't understand the forecasters, before they were overdoing the storm now they are underdoing it, there should be WWA out anywhere from a little Northeast of DC to Boston.

The latest RGEM explodes this storm right near us. It gives South Jersey through Southern New England heavy snow. .57 precip around NYC.

I think we also have to take into account the fluff factor.

The GFS spits out .47 liquid for Philly. Possibility of 15-1 snow ration and you get much increased numbers.

On this WV loop, does the trough appear to be going negative or am I just reading things incorrectly? Please inform. Thanks in advance.

If that was the Euro I would say maybe but I don't think this model is too reliable, we'll see what the Euro which has gradually been trending a little west says.

Yeah, the latest maps that were posted in the previous thread kind of looked like the main low was a little more west and precip increased.
