I only posted once about how the wind would really howl as the storm departed. It was truly gusty here last evening as Mrs US and I rode the ole golf cart across the top of our ridge. The trees were a creakin and my hat blew off at least 4 times. Those gusts had to be close to 50 ( I need to get me one of those portable anemometers).

An amazing comparison, even though the current storm is not fully ramped up in the image:

The wind abated some in the last hour with the max gust hitting 37 (peak gust 53 MPH @ 3:02 AM). It has also stopped snowing and visibility has improved dramatically.

That is excellent, thanks. I haven't seen a snow drift in years (not in my yard anyway)

Me too. In fact I was driving in the car and a cross gust came through knocked my hat off. (yes, my window was open while it felt like 10 degrees) laugh.gif They should subside today.

A look at the current wind chill values

HA! - So I'm NOT the only one who does that. laugh.gif I need fresh air, regardless whether it's warm or cold.

Still a lot of wind here with blowing snow. Local spotter report says 9" for storm snow total so I'll go with that as a final total. Now I will wait for the next snowstorm tomorrow night.
