Love it! Sunrise is getting nice and early too. Such a great time of year. Lots of flowers and plants popping out of the ground here, so we should see things green up way early this year.

Ontario - south

Snow squall watch

Snow Squalls are expected to develop this evening and persist into Sunday morning.

10 to 15 cm snow within 12 hours is possible under the most intense squalls.

Motorists should be prepared for hazardous winter driving conditions tonight and adjust travel plans accordingly.

Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.

EC has taken the expected high temp for today down to 7 which would put that record out of reach if it's correct

Made it to 3c so that wasn't in the cards at all. What a scandal.

Everything is still cold, barren and dead around here for the time being and that's not gonna change for at least two months.

Most certainly. You're north of the line that actually had a winter. Haha

Just barely man. Downtown had it even worse than up here and Travis did better as he's on the edge of where real winter starts this year laugh.gif

We're nearing the end of DJF Winter now and the final ranking of each month goes as follows:

December: 10/10

Solid wintry month here and one of the best December's we've had in years. This month featured everything I want to see in a season. We had solid snow cover from Dec 11th to the 26th and then again from the 29th to the 2nd. Even the two days between on the 27th and 28th the ground was mostly white. This month also featured the heaviest snowfall I have ever experienced from a squall line on the 15th. Throw in some clippers, light snows and dusting's along with a few solid dumps of snow on the 12th and 17th. Bonus points for it happening in December which has been lacking lately in the winter department.

Really, the only thing that puts it behind Dec 07 or 08 in the past decade of December's is snowfall and we did well in that department with around 52cm measured here and 67.7cm recorded at Buttonville.

January: 1/10

Horrible month. Drab, gray and overcast with not much snow and any that fell getting wiped away pretty quickly. Even though the majority of the month had some snow on the ground it was either patchy, a dusting or leftovers of snowbanks.

February: 6/10

Even with temps averaging above normal, we still pulled out 15 days here this month where we had solid snow cover (the ground all or nearly all white), a couple of clippers and one solid dumping of 16-18cm here on the 12th.
